Hawkins Point Road Widening Project - 2013

SAI, a Mead & Hunt Company, was responsible for designing and developing plans, specifications, and cost estimates for relocating and converting BG&E’s overhead electrical system to an underground conduit system (to be owned by the City), new streetlighting, new drainage structures, MOT and pavement marking.

This project is located in the southeast corner of Baltimore City, east of Curtis Creek and just south of I-695.   The project encompasses approximately one mile of Hawkins Point Road between Chemical Road and Quarantine Road and involves the realignment / reconstruction / widening of Hawkins Point Road over CSXT RR tracks, including the replacement of the existing deteriorated bridge (built in 1932).

The design phase is approximately 90% complete and is currently on hold pending the City’s acquisition of the remaining ROW easements.
